BSC Academy would like to introduce to you to our coaches and management team.

  • Mihail Markovic
    Mihail Markovic, Academy President


    Mihail has managed multiple professional and semiprofessional teams prior to launching BSC Academy. It was after a life changing personal event that Mihail decided he wanted to give back to the community he and his family call home. He knew from the start that the best way for him to celebrate Burlington was through his passion for soccer.

    Over the years prior, Mihail had obtained certification and training through courses with the Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) and has coached many different age groups.

    In his professional life outside of soccer, Mihail has worked as a Project Manager for a number of different organizations both large and small. His experiences throughout his career has helped him develop strong business acumen and management skills. A true entrepreneur, Mihail also acts as Player Agent for various Canadian and international soccer players.

  • Manny Maciel
    Manny Maciel, Assistant Technical Director
    Oversees U13 and above, Coach U16


    Manny was born in Portugal and came to Canada with his family at the age of 5. He grew up in Oakville and has lived in Burlington for the past 38 years. Soccer has always been a passion for Manny, both as a player and a coach. After his retirement from Siemens Canada Ltd., Manny wanted to get back into the game and joined the Burlington Soccer Club Academy.

    Playing Background:
    Manny played for several teams in Oakville including Oakville United in a reserves league for the National Soccer League. He was selected twice to the reserves All-Star team. While playing for Oakville United, Manny was called up for games with the senior team, Hamilton Italo – Canadians of the National Soccer League (Professional Soccer League in Canada). Unfortunately, a serious leg injury ended his playing days.

    Coaching Background:
    Manny’s passion for soccer and desire to continue in the game after his playing days is what drove him into coaching at the Rep level. He was committed to his development as a coach and obtained his Canadian Soccer Association and Ontario Soccer Association Coaching Certification.

    Manny was a coach with the Oakville Soccer Club for 22 years, starting at the age of 18:
    9 years coaching in House League.
    1 year coaching Rep level U16 Boys B team in Peel Halton Soccer League.
    5 years coaching Rep level U14 – U16 Boys A teams in Peel Halton Soccer League. Twice League Champions.
    7 years coaching U16 – U18 Boys A teams in the National Soccer League. Twice Ontario Cup finalist and three time Ontario Cup semi - finalist.

  • Bruno Gianotti

  • Karl Manzi Bicamumpaka
    Karl Manzi Bicamumpaka, – Sports Psychologist

    With BSC Academy for one year.

    After completing his bachelor’s while competing on the men’s soccer varsity team at McMaster University, Karl decided to pursue his studies in the field of sport psychology. He is a Mental Performance Consultant student currently enrolled in the Master of Human Kinetics program, specializing in Intervention and Consultation at the University of Ottawa. He is extremely passionate about helping individuals, teams, and organizations function optimally and realize their potential in their performance domain. He is currently completing part of his internship with Burlington SC Academy which involves team workshops and individual sessions. The focus of which can be, but is not limited to:

  • Erido Doku
    Erido Doku – ASSISTANT COACH U8, U9, U13, U14

    With BSC Academy for one year.

    Everyone calls him Ari and is always the first coach to join in any scrimmage during practice. Ari comes to us from Albania where he had a successful soccer career. During his time BSC Academy he has shown players of all ages what dedication and fitness can do to improve their game. Ari is also studying Accounting at George Brown College.

  • Julian Gianotti
    Julian Gianotti, Coach U10

    With BSC Academy for three years.

    Received full soccer scholarship at NDC

    2012 Played in 15 games for the Falcons Prior to NDC: A 2011 graduate of Cardinal Newman Catholic Secondary School…a five year starter for the Cardinals he had 28 goals, 42 assists in 104 games.

    Helder's passion for coaching started in 2013 with Glanbrook Youth Soccer Club, where he also served on the board of directors.

    Focused on networking, and enhancing athletic performance specifically in youth athletes (soccer) to help them achieve success on the field. As well as moving forward to achieve a higher education as they pursue collegiate opportunities.

  • Akeem Amardo Oakley
    Akeem Amardo Oakley - Skills Development

    With BSC Academy for five years.

    Playing Positions: Right/Left Winger. Striker. Right Marking Back. Coach Oakley has been playing soccer since before he can remember, from the days as a starter on his varsity high school team to his present assignment with Munity FC (NPSL) in Portugal.

  • William Tabi
    William Tabi – Skills Development

    With BSC Academy for five years.

    A Cameroonian footballer, player/coach who played in the Elite One, Argentine Primera División, Süper Lig, Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatian First Football League, Iran Football's 2nd Division, and the Canadian Soccer League. He was also part of the Cameroon U-20 team at the 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship.

    In 2012, he came to Canada to sign with London City of the Canadian Soccer League. In 2013, he was appointed the player coach for expansion franchise Burlington SC. He coached the club for three seasons, and qualified the team for the playoffs for two seasons reaching the quarterfinals each season.

  • Brandon Wellington
    Brandon Wellington – Coach U11

    With BSC Academy for six years.
    Playing Career
    2011 Went on a full soccer scholarship to Niagara University – a NCAA Division 1 school in the USA (played striker and midfield)
    2011 Invited to training camp for the Jamaican U 20 national team in advance of regional qualifying for the U 20 world cup
    2011 Played with the Toronto Lynx in the (USL) United States Soccer League PDL (Professional Development League) and led his team to the finals scoring a goal in each game of the tournament through the semi finals.
    2011 – 2012 Played and started every game in the Canadian Soccer League (CSL) Professional League with the Mississauga Eagles helping them earn a playoff spot in each of their first 2 seasons in the CSL (Canada’s highest professional soccer league) and also led the Mississauga Eagles U 21 team to the CSL U 21 championship. Invited by scouts from MLS Professional Club Toronto FC to try out with the MLS team, but turned it down to keep options open to go overseas
    2012 Played in the Rijeka U 21 Tournament in Croatia against Udinese U21, Dinamo Zagreb U 21, Dinamo Moscow U 21
    2012 Went on trial with Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia – invited to sign with their 2nd team – Lokomotiva (but the transfer was blocked by his Canadian club)
    2013 Won the Ontario Soccer League (OSL) Championship playing for Caledon SC.
